Brattle Principal Andrew Abere will present during the upcoming American Bar Association (ABA) webinar, “Effectively Using Data and Econometrics in Consumer Protection Matters,” taking place on February 9, 2017 from 12 pm – 1 pm EST.
Dr. Abere and his co-panelists will discuss how analyses implementing data and econometrics are used in consumer protection investigations and litigation involving government enforcers, such as the FTC and state attorney generals, as well as private parties. The session will explore the role of data in evaluating consumer deception and harm, as reflected in the recent FTC v. Amazon enforcement action. The panelists will also discuss the use of data to evaluate refund rates, complaints rates, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) compliance, and advertising claim substantiation.
